Very excitingly I went shopping today with my friends and finally our local Boots store has got a NYX counter. Seriously I swear we were like the only Boots in the UK not to have one, but thank god we do now and it is amazing. I am a big fan of NYX lipsticks, as you may have noticed from my very first Soft Matte Lip Cream Review. But I thought rather than buying more (which I actually did… haul to come soon), I also picked up one of their Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks in the shade 04 Soft-Spoken.
I did some reading up about this product the other day, not knowing I was going to buy them today, but I heard mixed reviews about them. Some of them were good but some were bad. It was one pound more expensive than the Soft Matte Lip Cream but that is expected as it is bigger than the those lip creams. I tried it on earlier before I wrote this post so I knew what it was like. I was looking forward to this product because I love matte lipsticks, in fact I am not a fan other lipsticks that aren’t matte! The applicator brush is not helpful as it is large and bent in a certain way that in my eyes makes it hard and messy to apply, but I managed to use it fine in the end.
The consistency of the lipstick is thinner than the Soft Matte Lip Cream, but is quite pigmented. However after about a minute after applying it, it went super sticky. I’m not sure whether it was because I applied quite a bit or not but that wasn’t the nicest feeling. The colour is a nude/pink colour and I love it because during the autumn when I want a bit of colour but not too much this will be perfect. It also smells really nice and like vanilla, just like the Soft Matte Lip Cream which is delightful because sometimes some company’s don’t scent their lipsticks and I prefer when they are scented. Is that just me?
I think if I were buying another lipstick from NYX I would chose their Soft Matte Lip Cream solely because it is one of my faves and I didn’t like how sticky this one was.
