“For Frosty, the Snowman, had to hurry on his way, But he waved goodbye, sayin’ “Don’t cry, I’ll be back again some day.”
Stop me if you disagree but what is more iconic than a red lip at Christmas? Sometimes I feel a bit wary about wearing a red lipstick as it is quite bold but around Christmas it is the perfect time to wear your red lipsticks. Plus a red lipstick with a gold smokey eye looks amazing! I don’t have too many red lipsticks but I have chosen my favourites and the ones that I tend to reach for the most throughout this festive period.
First is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Morocco. This is a more orange toned red lipstick but I still class it as red. This is a really good option if you want something a little brighter and lighter, rather than a deep and dark red. I am already obsessed with the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams because in my opinion they are one of the best liquid lipsticks for a reasonable price on the market, but I never really used to wear this lipstick in say summer or spring. However now it is the season for red lips I feel like this one will be used a lot.
The next lipstick I have chosen is the Helen E Long Lasting Lip Colour in Hollywood Red. This is the classic red lip. When you think of a red lipstick, with that classic ruby red shine to it… well that is this. It is very moisturizing on my lips and it is VERY good at staying on because normally with bright colours they rub off and leave you look like a clown after eating, however this stays on so well I struggle to get it off! I got this at the Clothes Show in Birmingham a few years ago (by the way as you read this I am probably on the way back from this year’s Clothes Show now if your reading this after it went up) and because the Clothes Show is so close to Christmas it always makes me feel even more festive!
I did have a third but when I took the photos last weekend I couldn’t find it and I STILL CAN’T FIND IT AND I WANT TO CRY! It was my favourite too but oh well at least I have two left.
What red lipsticks do you use in the festive season?
