“But I’mma be under the mistletoe”
I can’t believe that there is only five more days until Christmas and that December has gone so SO fast! For Christmas this year I am actually going away to stay with family up the country so it sparked an idea to blog about what makeup I will be taking with me. I will actually probably take more than this but these are the main items I have chosen so far. The only problem is that they aren’t the smallest items, and it doesn’t even include brushes, which I should have thought about but then again I wouldn’t get the same end result.
First is my beloved L’Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation in the colour 1N Ivory. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with this foundation. I bought it when I decided my skin was too dry to use my matte Max Factor foundation, because it was reasonably priced and it matched my skin well. It is a medium coverage and does it’s job however I probably wouldn’t buy it again as I have used better foundations. But I am taking it with me because I want to use it all up before I try another foundation out.
Next is my Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in the shade Soft Sand. I love this. Simple as. It is a really good powder as it doesn’t make your face seem all cakey but then again it is really good for keeping your skin matte. It is on the expensive side but sometimes I like to treat myself a little bit.
Third is my usual Freedom Makeup London Pro Brow Pomade in Ash Brown. I think that the brow defines your face and I hate the look of my brows when I haven’t applied anything to them. I found that using a pomade like this helps create precision when filling in your brows and helps you get that ‘perfect brow‘. I would say this shade is too dark for me because I couldn’t test it but it lasts a really long time and is really affordable.
For my contour I am going to take away with me is the Mac Powdered Blush in Film Noir. I bought this a while ago, by that I mean a long while ago, when I wanted a contour product. It is actually way too dark if I put it on without blending it but when I do blend it in it looks really nice. What I like about this is that it is super pigmented and is also nice and small to fit in my travel bag!
Very excitingly I received the Morphe 35OM Eyeshadow Palette from my friends Anna, Georgie and Emily for my birthday and I am so grateful. I have wanted it so bad because the colours that are in it are perfect. I especially like the orange tones. I decided to take it away because I am sure I will be able to make a gorgeous Christmas day makeup look using it. It is quite large for taking away but I wouldn’t think about leaving it behind!
To finish the eye look the mascara I chose was the Rimmel Extra 3D Lash Mascara. I have lots of mascara but i ave chosen to take this one with me because I feel it gives me the best ‘false lash look‘. I am not very brave when it comes to false lashes because I fell like I will just stab my eye out! However this gives really voluminous lashes and most importantly it doesn’t smudge and ruin the rest of your makeup!
Lastly, for the lips I decided to keep it minimal with two nude lipsticks. This is because although red lips are perfect for Christmas, I want to do a dramatic eye look and it would be too much to do both. So I am taking the amazing NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Budapest and the Helen E Long Lasting Lip Colour Lipstick in Seville.
I hope you enjoyed reading this! Are you going anywhere nice at Christmas?
