Last weekend I went for a spot of shopping and I got a few bits from Mac. I did ask on Twitter whether I should wait to blog about it until I get a few more bits which I was planning to get from Mac, but I don’t think I will be getting them any time soon so I thought I would put it up today! I knew when I went into town that I wanted to go to Mac, purely because I had some vouchers, and because I wanted a new lipstick.
I was actually wanting to get a nude lipstick but I came away with Retro. Retro as you can see is not a nude lipstick, and instead is a muddy red shade (sorry that is the best way to describe it!). It is a rich, autumnal colour which I would wear all year around. It is a lot different to what it looks like on the Mac website which has taught me that when looking for Mac lipsticks I will go in store for it. It is a satin lipstick, rather than what I usually like which is matte, but it slides on so effortlessly. If you read my recent blog post about my Colour Analysis Session you would know that because of my skin, eye and hair colour I should be wearing autumnal colours, so this lipstick is perfect for me.
I also picked up the Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze. I have been dying for a new bronzer because I needed something better that matched my skin to use for my contour. The makeup artist in Mac recommend either a powdered blush or the bronzer. I went for the bronzer because I have a powdered blush so I wanted something different. I have used this nearly every day since I got it. I really like it because it is matte. My other bronzers are all shimmery, which is good for summer but I prefer something matte for winter. It is also quite subtle which lets me build it up to the way I like my contour.
