January 2017 Favourites

I feel like I haven’t done a simple monthly favourites for ages, as I never did a December one however this month I don’t actually have many favourites because I haven’t tried anything new other than these products, and I have been using the same products. I do have three things I have been liking though this month so I thought I would share them with you.

First is the H&M Smokey Essentials Eyeshadow Palette. My lovely friend Charlotte gave me this for Christmas and I love the colours in it. I have never tried any of H&M‘s beauty or makeup products before because I didn’t know what it would be like as it is a clothing store. However they are actually really good. They are high quality and they have a very extensive collection ranging from eyeshadows, foundations and nail polishes. I love the colours is this palette as they are earthy and I haven’t got any other eyeshadows like them. I especially like the glitter navy blue shade because this winter a navy smokey eye is really trendy. They are pigmented, however the colour pay off isn’t as good as some higher end products. They are really blendable though and the white one is perfect for brightening the inner corner of the eye.

Next is the Mac Studio Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15 / NW20. Typically this is an eyeliner, and can be used for lining your eyes or water line, however I like to use it as a lip liner. It has a really creamy formula so makes it soft to apply on the lips or eyes. It goes really well with my Helen E Lipstick in Seville and makes my lips look plump. if you are one for lining your lips to make them look larger, then this is good because it is natural.

The last product I have been liking is the Mac Bronzing Powder in Matte Brown. I actually have a bit of a love hate relationship with this product. I don’t really like this product because the colour pay off is quite poor and I find myself swirling my brush around in the product for ages and not getting anything to show for it when I apply it to my skin. On the other hand when I do get a bit of colour out of it the colour is gorgeous and matches my skin really well. That is why I put it in here. I find loads of bronzers are really orangey and are shimmery. This is more of a natural bronzer so is more natural for contouring and is matte! A matte bronzer is literally my holy grail!

What have you been loving this month?
