I have a feeling that I missed doing the favorites for January, however don’t fear because I have picked a few things I was loving during February. But can we just stop for a moment and realise we are already in March! MARCH! How crazy is that?! We are just about a quarter through 2017 already! I am still here thinking it is January and that it is winter and expecting it will snow any time soon! But NO. It is spring. Honestly, if you can’t already tell I am mind blown. Even though February is a sort month I have a fair few things I have been loving. Some of them are old classics and I have most likely featured them in many posts before, however I have some newbies too.
First up is the ol’ traditional Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I have mentioned this a million times, however I stopped using it for a bit one because I ran out of it and never repurchased it, and then two because I started trying out new concealers. However as it is cheap, and I can’t resist not having it any longer I got the shade Fair and I have been using it under my eyes. I previously found it rather heavy under the eyes but lately I have been loving it. It is so highlighting and it is really fully coverage. I always thought it was prone to creasing a little but after trying out other concealers I have concluded that it must be my skin. I love LOVE LOVE it!!
Next is a primer and that is the Mac Prep + Prime Moisture Infusion. Sadly I am running out of this primer, however it is very long-lasting because I have had it since June! I put my makeup on the other day, not using a primer (I know, total rebel… Ha ha..!) and I realised how much more smoothly my makeup goes on using it, not to mention how much longer my makeup lasts for when wearing the primer. It well and truly does ‘Prep + Prime‘ your skin.
I actually have two types of powders in my favourites, because I have been using a combination of both. First is the NYX Studio Finishing Powder. I was really wanting to try a translucent powder and when I saw this one in NYX I thought I would give it a go. After buying it, I saw a load of bad reviews saying it had really bad flash back in photos after baking. However when I did my research I realised it isn’t meant for baking and instead is meant to matte your whole face. So I tried it in some photos and I LOVED the results. I have been in some photos where I looking shocking because of my makeup, however I think this is going to be perfect. I have also popped in the Bobbi Brown Sheer Finished Pressed Powder. I am have very nearly ran out of this and probably won’t be repurchasing it because of the price, however I just found it really mattifying and not cakey.
The last two products are both from Mac and they are the Mineralize Eyeshadow Quad in Golden Hours and the Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze. I adore the eyeshadow palette because I love the neutral colours. They are really light weight and have a buildable coverage, meaning that they are perfect for school or work because they can create a gorgeous but natural look. I chose to put the bronzer in because I have been finding myself reaching for it on days where I also want a really natural look. It is a very flawless finish however it would be a little better if it was a little more pigmented because I find myself having to swirl my brush in the pan a little more than I would like.
I hope you have enjoyed the insight in what I have been liking the past month.
