Heavenly Malteaster & Marshmallow Milkshake

Who put all the Malteasers into the milkshake and didn’t leave any to take a photo at the end? ME! Least to say I was annoyed with myself and I only realised after I had blended them into tiny pieces… Anyway, I got back from my driving lesson today and I randomly decided to make myself a milkshake so that I could sit and drink it in the sun because the weather today has been stunning.

I used to be obsessed with a milk shake parlour in the UK called Shakeaway. Basically, if you don’t know, at Shakeaway you can get a milkshake made out of pretty much any chocolate, biscuit or sweet treat you can think of and they are amazing. However my closest one is about half an hour away from where I live which isn’t practical to go to whenever I want a milkshake, so I tend to improvise and make my own, which is really what I have just done here.

On a beautiful summers day I don’t think there is anything better than chilling outside, soaking up some Vitamin D (not forgetting the sun cream of course) and drinking a nice, cool milkshake. I don’t actually like milk on its own, so a milk shake for me is a good way of getting a bit of calcium in my diet, even though it might not be in the healthiest way… These milkshakes are so easy to make and this is how…!

You will need:

  • Milk
  • Malteasers (or any chocolately sweet treat of your choice)
  • Marshmallows
  • Drinking chocolate or chocolate milkshake powder
  • Chocolate Ice Cream
  • A cute little mason jar (this is obvs optional but it makes it 100x cuter!)
  • A blender

I didn’t put any measurements next to the items because it really depends on the size of your glass. The best thing to do is to pour the milk into your desired glass so that it is ¾ full. I did a bit more than that and I made too much and it went everywhere so learn from my experience! I used a whole small box of Malteasers in my milkshake, and if you are using a bar of chocolate I would use about two bars. However if you want more or less than that is perfectly fine too.

I added a bit of chocolate milkshake powder to mine as well, only because I wanted to go over and above to make a chocolate heaven in a drink. Then pop a handful of marshmallows in the blender too and mix it all together. I feel that the marshmallows add a bit more sweetness to it because when you have a sweet tooth like me you can never get enough!

Then you just simply pour it into your glass or jar and then you can add whippy cream (which I had run out of) or chocolate sauce and some more marshmallows too. I think they look so cute especially in jars and they are totally Instagrammable! My mum got me my mason jar from The Range the other day for only £1 so if you want to get it too (which I really recommend) you can find it here.

If you put ice cream in yours, then remember to decrease the amount of milk you have because it won’t all fit in your jar or glass if you don’t.

What sweet treat would you use if you tried this?!

  1. This looks delicious!! 😍 The day I make this summer will start over here in Ireland as the weather is terrible 😂 Shakeaway sounds like a brilliant place! If I made this (I probably will now 😂) I would put crunchy bar in it or ferrero rocher!! 💗
