Don’t you just love it when you get it from a full day of work and you just see a package hidden behind your plant pot and you find that your Cult Beauty package has arrived. I know I do. Last week I did the worst possible thing I could and went onto Cult Beauty for a little scroll and I ended up ordering a few bits and pieces… #SORRYNOTSORRY. I was actually very good and I only got two things that, of course, I REALLY needed… One of them happened to the Zoeva Basic Moment Blush Palette.
I have always wanted makeup from Zoeva, as I swear everything that they do is so dreamy and always has really good reviews. I genuinely wanted to get a new blusher as I have a few blush palettes but I find that only coral toned blushers really suit my skin and this one happened to be perfff!!
After doing a bit of research, I realised that the Basic Moment range is actually relatively new and only came out in May and also includes an eyeshadow palette, which OMG looks beaut! I have tried it for the first time today so I thought I would give you my honest thoughts on this palette.
To start, the packaging is super dreamy and of course I love it because it matches my pink theme. It is really elegant and is also magnetic so that if you put it in your bag it won’t fly open and cause all your shadows to smash. It is actually quite a reasonably sized palette, with cardboard packaging. If you have read some of my other blog post you know I am not normally a fan of that because it can become damaged easily but I think I have to excuse that here because it is too stunning to worry about!
This Zoeva palette for me ticks all the boxes really because it is a powdered contour palette (I don’t like any cream makeup) and it has a matte contour and blush shade (I am more of a matte gal than shimmery). The powders are very creamy in consistency which make them lovely to apply and they don’t cling onto any dry patches of skin.
They are also EXTREMELY pigmented. I applied the contour like I would with my normal bronzer and I applied WAYYY too much and I ended up spending forever blending it out. Note to self: Don’t apply that much again. But the shade is lovely for contour because it isn’t orangey like normal bronzers but it isn’t too ashy so suits my olive skin tone really well.
The blusher is also very pigmented and it gives you a really natural flushed look. I struggle to find decently priced blushers that aren’t shimmery in any form. I feel like if you are wearing highlighter you don’t want a shimmery blush because it will just be way too over powering. As well as this, all the powders contain Vitamin E so for a change makeup is actually helping your skin!
Lastly the highlighter is a champagne toned highlighter and has a pearl finish making your cheekbones sparkle like they haven’t before! My skin tone has no pink backing so having a golden highlight suits me really well. It definitely has a buildable coverage so that you can have it subtle if you want or you can apply mulitple layers to make it super shiny and pigmented.
