I am sorry I have been a bit MIA this weekend, we had a family party on Saturday and then visited more family on Sunday and it was nice just to relax and not have to worry about my blog or Instagram for a bit. This time has also given me chance to test out my new fave product that I am loving. As you know from my last post, I did a bit of a Cult Beauty haul and within that I picked up The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer.
I have seen The Ordinary EVERYWHERE. Honestly I felt like there was no escaping it on Instagram. Not just this product but a range of products from the brand and I was like I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. I was just looking for any sort of primer on Cult Beauty and I wanted one that was fairly cheap as I go through primers so quickly, and I came across this one.
It was only £5.50 and I just had to try it out because even drug store brands don’t have primers that cheap. I always find that primer can be more expensive than even some foundations and it has always baffled me as to why (so if you know why just pop it in the comments!).
The unusual thing about this primer is that it is a liquid primer so isn’t like a ‘normal’ primer you use which has the consistency of a moisturizer. I was a bit puzzled how to use it because it just said on the package ‘Use as the last part in your skincare regime’ and I was like THANKS. So I just put it on the cotton wool pad and blended it across my face.
I was also unsure on how much to use because I used a full pipette amount of liquid but then I realised that if I use that much each time then I will need a new one by next week! I so I have adjusted to 4 drops of the liquid but I have to blend it evenly as it is only a small amount of liquid.
The whole idea of primer is to set your face and to make your makeup last even longer than it normally would, so does it do that?? My makeup has been lasting a lot long actually using this primer! It gives a naturally dewy look to the skin that isn’t too oily. My last primer would make me look like someone had just poured a bucket of greasy on my face so I like the naturalness of this.
So is liquid primer the next big thing?! I think it could be because it dries a lot quicker than a primer with a thicker consistency, however I would prefer a bigger bottle with more product for your money because I feel like I have been using a lot of it up each time I use it but then again that’s the amount I feel is suitable. On the other hand it is dead cheap at £5.50 so its not like you are spending £20 each time you re-buy it.
