I missed Blogmas Day 12. I know I suck. I have a very valid explanation thought but I feel so bad for missing it because I really wanted to complete it but these things just happen yah know?! Basically I wrote this huge blog post talking about the realities of blogmas and it was relatively long… all that jazz and I go to upload my feature image and chrome freezes, kicks me out and BOOM the whole blog post has been lost. But because it was my boyfs birthday I didn’t have time to rewrite it but life takes over and so do priorities. SOZ.
Anyway I feel this is all very relative to this blog post all about blogmas. Don’t get me wrong I love blogmas it gets me feeling all Christmassy and warm and fuzzy inside etc… but it is hard work. It is straight out 25 days of blogging where as I would normally do two or three posts a week.
One thing about blogmas is not only is it very time-consuming – ATM I am having to juggle blogmas, revision, coursework and a busy social life – but there is so much that has to go into it. Last year I was way more prepped and I wish I was like that this year. Last year I bulked shot all of my photos in one day (might be why they were all a load of rubbish though…) and I had written the majority of my posts. This year – specifically this week I have a heck of a lot going on because of my boyfriend’s birthday, and my birthday on Sunday ~~~ EEKK! ~~~ and Christmas is so soon – so I really should have had a rocket shoved up my arse to get me planned and sorted (not lit obvs).
With the photos for blogmas it is so hard to time when to take them because December = darkness and by the time I get home from college it is pitch black. THANKS. So I have to take them either at the weekend – if I have time – or come home during the day when it is PRIME TIME.
All the bad things a side, because I seem like Scrooge when it comes to blogmas, but it does have lots of positives. One being that it is actually really good for your blog’s algorithm. As you are posting every day about different Christmassy things, it draws near viewers to your blog, can be up to triple the amount of people who would normally view your blog in the month! How insane is that! It can get your blog out their sharing content that people will love!
But second, and most importantly blogmas is such a good way to bring the blogging community together because you are sharing content which is alike, and you can share the Christmas love!
Are you doing blogmas? If so what do you think about it?!
