This blog post was meant to go up yesterday but I just NEVER got the chance to write it… #legday at the gym went on longer than I thought it would…. WHOOPS. I am now walking around everywhere like I have wet myself because my legs are SO sore! No pain no gain though right?!
I am bringing you the last in the True Match reveiws today with the L’Oreal True Match Powder. If you have caught the others, I also reviewed the foundation and the concealer. I would check them out if I were you *Wink Wink ;)*. The foundation was amazing, the concealer not quite as amazing so I was wondering whether this would be good or not.
First of all I noticed it wasn’t the biggest powder in the world. It is a small square powder, my last few powders have been slightly bigger but as long as it lasts a good amount of time I’m not complaining!! It opens up into two cool compartments (which I didn’t find out until I accidentally opened it! I was like “WOAHHH”) one into the powder and one into a little compartment where there is a sponge for the powder. I haven’t used the little sponge yet, it is pristine white so I don’t want to ruin it HAHA, and I normally use my regular powder brush anyway.
The shade I got with the powder was W1 Golden Ivory – unlike the mishap with the concealer (basically I got the wrong shade so I look like a literal ghost when I wear it) I actually got the correct shade for my skin tone and to me it matches perfectly. And the verdict on the actual powder…… I actually love this powder. It is like a little secret gem!
I have combination skin, because I tend to get dryish skin on my forehead but across my nose and chin my skin can get oily. This powder is made oil-free so is perfect for those who want to matte down oily skin – but it is also good on dry skin. Some powders really highlight dry skin and I am just like FFS WHYYYYY?? But this one doesn’t do what thankfully!
It also doesn’t make you look cakey. I have really been liking it because it’s not sheer but I don’t end up looking like I have piled on the slap either. One of the powders I used to use would clump up when I tried to apply it with my normal powder brush, leaving clumps on my face, but this goes on like a dream and makes my face feel quite soft. I wouldn’t say it has an extraordinarily long staying power but it will stay on for a good part of the day. I would have to reapply it for the evening though.
It is a drug store price but a high quality powder. You can find it here if you wish to have a look!
Also I put a poll up on my Instagram story last night about my photography and my themes. I asked which would you prefer white and grey or bold and colourful. Majority goes to bold and colourful at the moment but what would you prefer?? Let me know in the comments!!
Have you ever used this powder?
