I came around to that time of the month where you run out of concealer (or in my case I run out of everything all at once #typical) and you wonder what to go for. I wasn’t sticking with my previous concealer because mentioning no names I thought it was utter rubbish and not worth another penny of mine. BTW I am currently writing this and almost going insane because the smoke alarm in my house keeps randomly bleeping like EVERY 30 SECONDS and I am just like ‘PLEASE STOP‘. If I make it to the end of this blog post with it still going off that will be a major achievement…
So I asked my friend Zoe from work, as she is into makeup as much as I am, about what concealer to try because other than the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer I haven’t found a concealer that I am really satisfied with. Zoe recommended the Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer. I had seen this on places like Instagram and Cosmopolitan’s little Snapchat thing-y-ma-bob (anyone else read that??) but I never understood how big the hype was around it.
It was only until I went into Plymouth to try to buy it and it had COMPLETELY SOLD OUT in both Superdrug’s and in the Superdrug I went into in Birmingham. Like even the testers were gone… All I needed to do was test my shade but nope! Couldn’t even do that properly. But this means that it must be insane if it went that quick right??
Going off Zoe’s recommendation I got C5 for highlighting under my eyes and what not and then C6 for blemishes. I only got C5 just to test the water because knowing my past experiences with buying multiple new concealers and hating them, I wanted to play it safe.
I was really surprised to see how small the concealer was when I opened it TBH but it was only £4 so I can’t really complain about that. It’s maybe been nearly a month and I feel like I need another, but it’s not like it would be bank breaking to get another.
Another thing I was surprised about was how thick in consistency it was. I always thought the Collection Concealer was thick but this is extremely thick. But weirdly it actually really works! I found it a really nice consistency to work with and it blends out so smoothly.
I have always had issues with creasing concealers under my eyes – I have settled with the fact it was just my eyes and I am going to have to live with it **SIGH** however using this concealer with my new Laura Mercier Translucent Powder is such a dreamy combination and the creasing holds off a few hours which for me is a BIG achievement.
Also I think the colour is a really good shade for me. I have Zoe to thank for that really, but I will definitely be re-buying multiple of this shade. The shades have really good ranges, with 18 different ones in total, comparing to Collection which only has 4…
Coverage wise it is full coverage – I think that’s why it is such a thick concealer, however it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin like you might expect it too.
If you would like to get your hands on one of these I think your best opp is to head << here >> rather than in stores as you don’t want to face disappointment!
Have you heard about this concealer??
